In a perfect world, every animal would be exactly identical. This isn’t the case as every animal is different – cow skin have longer fur, shorter fur, darker fur, lighter fur etc.

Please be aware that all of our cowhides are 100% genuine animal skins that are byproducts of nature and the environment. This means you can expect some of them to have occasional marks, fire brands and scrapes. These natural blemishes are completely normal – they are NOT defects. Instead, they are simple scars that are unique to each animal, adding a layer of authenticity to each rug.

Sure you can vacuum cowhide! When vacuuming a cowhide rug, it's best to use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment rather than a beater bar. The brush attachment is gentler on the delicate hairs of the cowhide.

• Clean and Dry: Ensure the rug is clean and completely dry before storing it. Vacuum it to remove any dust or debris.
• Roll It: Never fold a cowhide rug, as this can create creases. Instead, roll it up with the hair side facing outward. Rolling prevents the rug from developing permanent wrinkles.
• Protection: To protect the rug from dust, insects, and moisture, wrap it in a breathable material like muslin or a cotton sheet. Avoid using plastic, as it can trap moisture.
• Store in a Cool, Dry Place: Choose a cool, dry storage location. Humidity can damage the hide and encourage mold growth, so avoid damp areas like basements or attics.
• Check Periodically: Periodically inspect the rug, especially if it's in storage for an extended period. Ensure it remains clean and dry, and address any issues promptly.
